  • Take your children out to Kids day for amazing fun on Wednesday May 31st! The event will last from 10AM-2PM and will have many free activities for your kids to partake in!
  • Spin around on the Ali Baba ride!
  • Have you had Hog Heaven BBQ before? Stop by their food truck for great food and bbq! We guarantee it will be delicious! 
  • Watch and listen to the bluegrass music being played. There is a full line up of bluegrass music at the courthouse gazebo. 
  • Run for the Hills 5k is one of the toughest 5ks you can run in Harlan, KY! With steep inclines on Ivy Hill, you can brag about winning this 5k! 
  • Have fun with your friends and ride the ferris wheel.
  • Stop for a refreshment and get an ice cold sweet tea from Denton’s!
  • Listen to Shiloh Turner and his great guitar skills. Shiloh will take the stage at 4PM on Saturday, June 3rd.
  • Take a ride on the Scrambler for great excitement! 
  •  Visit the crafters inside of the Harlan Center! You can find lots of locally made crafts, goods, and information from some of our locals on the inside!
  •  The weather is going to be hot so make sure you cool off with cold drinks and treats, shade, and visiting inside.
  •  Sit and listen to the Kudzu Killers for a great night of music! Kudzu Killers will take the stage at 8PM on Friday, June 2nd. 
  •  Get a wristband for nonstop fun at the carnival! 
  •  Feel like you’ve been dropped straight into a movie set and see the Jurassic Kingdom Lockdown show for free!
  •  If you are hankering for a sweet treat run by and grab some fried oreos!
  •  The gospel stage’s headliner will be Last Day Seer. Swing by on Saturday, June 3rd to check them out!
  •  Dunk on your friends with the 3 Point Shootout!
  •  One of our new vendors will be Gotchee Hibachi! Try out their amazing hibachi for some great food during the festivities!
  • Compete in a game of lazer tag with some friends! 
  •  Get some ice cold lemonade from one of our food venders to cool off!
  •  Think you have what it takes to win big? Grab some friend and go play some carnival games to win big at one of our many carnival games! 
  • Watch a thrilling competition between some of the best voices of Harlan County at Poke Sallet Idol! 
  • No Poke Sallet Festival is complete without grabbing your commemorative t-shirt featuring caricatures of all of the events that take place at the festival. 
  • While you are in town, snap a pic by some of our murals and post it to Instagram! 
  •  Listen to a great performance by singer Bradley Halcomb. Bradley will take the stage at 3PM on Saturday!
  • What do you call cheese that isn’t yours? NACHO CHEESE! Grab some nachos at the festival and make some puns with your friends! 
  • Take your child on a spin around Huff Park on the Rotary train. 
  • We have some new vendors at the festival including a freeze dried candy vendor! If you haven’t tried candy that’s been freeze dried before it’s a completely new twist on candy! Treat yourself with some! 
  • Listen to a spiritual performance by the gospel stage. You can check out their full line up on our website!
  • Take a spin on the dizzy dragon!
  • Listen to Midnight Rider rock out! They are performing during the lunch time slot on Friday, June 2nd.
  • Get a Poke Sallet inspired treat at Moonbow or try their Poke Sallet charcuterie boxes!
  • No Poke Sallet Festival is complete without jumping around on the inflatables at Huff Park! 
  • Hear a great show by Zac Hart when he takes the stage on Saturday at 8 p.m. for this FREE concert!
  • Come see a purrr-fect competition at the pet show. Registration begins at the Courthouse on Saturday June 3 at 10 a.m. with judging at 11 a.m.!
  • Listen to a performance of the traditional Poke Sallet song by Sunshine School. These preschoolers learn the song each year for their graduation and then share it with the crowd at the opening ceremony.
  •  Take a break from the crowd at the Huff Park playground. The same playground you love to visit year round is still waiting for you on the far side of Huff Park when your little ones need a break from loud music and large crowds.
  •  Have a deep fried pickle. Is it even a festival if you don’t order something deep fried? 
  • Listen to 2022 American Idol winner and Kentucky native Noah Thompson sing. He’ll be on stage Saturday June 3 at 9 p.m. This concert is FREE so come early and find the perfect spot for your chair!
  • Sail through the festival on the paddle boats located at Huff Park.
